The Brief

Dr Now are a very well respected private medical centre who were looking at moving into an historical building, which ment there were limitations on changing to the building structure.

There were 3 areas to focus on, client facing receptions, medical rooms, and a sizable back-office operation.

The Solution

Each facet required a different approach and product which we were able to supply.

The rooms that were identified for the receptions were Georgian in design, so we used classic lounge seating with a luxurious crushed velvet fabric and marble coffee tables to enhance the feel. The reception counters were made to our specification and contrasted the room.

We introduced wall papers on certain walls to compliment the painted walls, a range of artwork with a combination of natural & faux plants finished the space.

The consultancy rooms needed to have a practical element as well as comfort. Using a white and grey finish we added visitor seating with arms and used a faux leather for the practical element.

The final area was the back of house offices, these had to be squeezed in among the remaining spaces in the building. Desk sizes had to be compact and additional acoustic panels had to be added as the ceilings were low and a plasterboard finish, which reflects the sound.

In addition, a breakout, copier, and storage space were needed to keep the medical centre functioning on a day-to-day basis.

The Outcome

The space has been warmly received by clients, clinicians, and staff. There is now a waiting list of clinicians who want to book rooms as the general ambiance makes for relaxed patients leading to better out comes.

Despite the density of staff there is a feeling of space within the back offices, all the functions that need to be done can be and they love the breakout area.
