The Brief
Grundon is the UK’s largest family-owned supplier of integrated waste management and environmental services.
Their existing reception was looking dated and had insufficient space to accommodate the additional staff member that was needed.
The design had to encompass the existing structures, including entrance doors, an IT server, store areas and adjoining meeting rooms. The existing tile flooring along with the oak panelling were to remain so the new reception needed to compliment these features.
Finally, the reception team also carry out several tasks around supporting different departments and they manage the meeting rooms.
The Solution
We evaluated what was needed within the whole of the reception area, both from a staff and client prospective.
This included working with their IT team to deliver a streamlining of technical requirements, such as CCTV and signing in procedures.
Several designs were considered to accommodate the needs of the team and once we narrowed it down, we produced some 3D renders to assist the team to visualise the space.
Finally, we worked on the finishes to compliment the existing panelling but also to give it a refreshed modern twist to the design
The Outcome
The reception team are so pleased to have space without falling over each other.
Using an Oak panel design on the front and side of the reception tied it into the existing features without it
clashing with them.
Encasing the panels in a concrete surround finish gave a modern twist to the reception counter and
gives the area another dimension..
