The Brief
Hitachi High-Tech are a part of the Hitachi Group and they specialise in analytical techniques for a wide range of industries.
There was a need to move not only to accommodate additional staff but to showcase their product range, expand their servicing & product support and hold stock for distribution.
The Solution
Once a building was identified we set about planning & designing all the elements they needed into the space.
A service area was developed with additional requirements and power and an extensive area to showcase the equipment. We used a benching system that had to be robust as some of the machines weighed quite a bit and vibrated while in use.
In the main working area, a benching desk system was introduced along with offices for some of the management team. Floor to ceiling storage was added to minimise the footprint, but placed in areas where it did not impact on the natural light.
Additional high benches were added for the service team, who used them in the morning prior to departing and then in the afternoon on return, with the sales teams using them during the day.
We introduced a retractable wall into the meeting area to allow it to be turned into a conference facility, a boardroom was added as were meeting points in the showcase areas and some sofas in the open office spaces.
Finally, the all-important breakout space was introduced which like the tall benching different teams access it throughout the day.
The Outcome
The light and airy feel to the office has given all the teams a great base to work from with the opportunity to meet with colleagues both formally and informally.
The real big win has been the showcase areas where clients can see the product in action, get a great coffee in the breakout space and finalise a deal in the boardroom.
