The Brief

This organisation have a number of commercial properties located throughout the UK and have recently acquired a property in Covent Garden to develop.

The new building is to be used partly by their own staff and partly being sublet. With this in mind there was a particular emphasis placed on the reception and the ground floor meeting room. With the focus on the reception seating in order to make it look inviting as due to the window size the space can be observed from the outside.

The reception design is a grey stone floor the walls were white and wood panelled walls with exposed services dropped from a plasterboard ceiling. The meeting room had a grey patterned carpet with white walls and exposed services in the ceiling.

The Solution

Within the reception we selected seating with a wooden frame partly to compliment the wood panelling on the adjacent wall and partly to give a warm effect in the space, with the finish being warn not a light scandi appearance.

The fabrics were predominantly selected from the new Monochrome Sett, by Camira, to blend into the flooring and keep the space neutral. A floor rug and cushions added colour with a soft calming green used as the lead colour. Coffee tables and a lamp were added in a black metal finish to offset the wood finishes.

In the meeting room we selected a white tabletop to give the illusion of space using a wooden leg detail that has worked with the oak finish on credenza. There is no oak panelling within the room so the oak on the credenza has acted as the tie up with the reception.

We used a swivel chair on a caster base to allow for maximum flexibility and comfort with a Monochrome Sett fabric.

The Outcome

The client is delighted with this uncluttered, warm and contemporary space.

The woods have blended well and the seating located under the feature light is particularly inviting.
The space allows for multiple people to await their meeting with them or one of their tenants.

The meeting room is a comfortable 8-person space with an eye-catching credenza
